The ERTE Catalyst have been selected to be part of the Tools for a Warming Planet project: a collection of speculative and scientific field tools for environmental exploration in the Anthropocene. The project puts together scientific research practices and artistic intervention by collecting tools from different research modes.
As the weather becomes a more volatile and figurative player in our lives, our methods of ‘knowing’ the environment are changing. Observation in nature, mapping, community engagement and data collection is changing roles, from exploring unknown areas to establishing new metrics, representations, sets of data and relations, in territories ‘known’ in different ways.
Tools for a Warming Planet was part of the exhibition La irrupción in the Santa Mònica Arts Centre of Barcelona, giving exhibition and dissemination space to the collective and collaborative research of the ERTE Catalyst, along with other projects.
